In The Community

Involvement in the community is an important and much valued element of choir school and cathedral roles. This includes many excellent programmes promoting singing and instrumental playing. Two CSA members have been winners of TES Independent School Awards. Lichfield Cathedral School’s hugely successful Music Share programme won the Independent-State School Partnership Award. Norwich School was rewarded for its all-embracing community work to pick up the Whole-School Community Initiatives of the Year.

Use our interactive Partnership Programmes page to check out what CSA members are up to (or click below to find a project near you). You will also see which CSA Members are already working with their local Music Education Hub. (This map is continually being updated)

When government funding through the National Singing Programme (Sing Up) came to an end in 2011, most CSA members continued to run chorister programmes in their communities. This is in addition to a variety of other initiatives, supporting not only the creative arts, but a host of other subject based initiatives.
