The King’s School has a rich tradition of singing partnership within the community, along with other initiatives covering drama, science based projects, sport and community support.

Pupils have been regular visitors to local residential homes to sing, dance and play to residents, who in turn are invited to special services in the Cathedral. John Pennington, DoM, runs the King’s Community Choir and pre-lockdown there were plans to link up with Opera Boots to promote opera in the school.  Amongst many other projects, King’s regularly hosted a programme bringing together pupils from local schools to practise and perform at its ‘Orchestra in an Afternoon’, culminating in a performance for all their parents.  The Cathedral boy and girl choristers were involved too with a termly partnership programme alongside the Cathedral Junior Choir.

Watch out for a brand new website partnerships page soon as more initiatives arrive. See contact below or email: rshaughnessy@thekingsschool.co.uk
