Many CSA members are fee-paying independent schools. However, CSA also has some of the finest state schools in England in membership, as well as a number of cathedrals and churches without choir schools.

CSA was founded in 1918 but represents school foundations dating back many centuries.

The English Chorister by Alan Mould, published in 2007 (available from Amazon) is the story of choristership through the ages – written by one of the finest headmasters of his generation whose passion for his subject shines through every chapter of this special and engaging story.
