There are different strands of partnership at SJCS including the Stringmoves Programme which has been running for 17+ years on Saturday mornings. This attracts more than 60 6+ year olds from local schools and currently runs remotely, offering Delacroize, theory and independent strings lessons.

The school engages with local children through its regular piano performance platforms. The school also plans links in other areas of the curriculum and additional music initiatives – watch this space!

Since 2013 St John’s College has enjoyed a very fruitful partnership with St John the Divine Church in Kennington. Children aged 7-8 enjoying a week-long stay in the school boarding house each summer.  As well as singing in the Chapel they visit places like St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Suffolk. It is such a positive relationship with a very high-level and ambitious ‘product’ being available to children not normally of that standard. The children don’t fail to rise to the challenge!

We look forward to hearing more about this fantastic project in the months to come.
