At the Cathedral School, nurtured by our Christian values, we make sure that each child is able to find what they can excel at. We encourage them to search out opportunity, not waiting for it to come knocking. Our wide range of opportunities develop confidence, allowing each child to find what they excel at. From there the sky is the limit.
We provide pupils with as many and varied opportunities as possible so that the seeds of enthusiasm, playfulness and confidence can be planted and nurtured.
Girls and boys have the opportunity to study, play, perform and grow together. We cherish the immense benefits of co-education. All pupils have the same opportunities in academic study, in music (including becoming Cathedral choristers) and in sport and other activities. Girls and boys have equal representation in leadership positions and opportunities to participate in sport, music, art and drama, as well as in the various subjects of the curriculum. All pupils are encouraged to represent their House in a variety of activities, and to learn team work and collegiality through doing so. There are opportunities for pupils whatever their temperament, interests and abilities.
Our Choristers
The Cathedral School and Llandaff Cathedral have a long and proud tradition of choral singing. For this living tradition to continue, we are always on the look-out for girls and boys aged approximately 7-10 years old.
Equal opportunities are offered to girls and boys who wish to be choristers in Llandaff. There are up to 18 choristers in each group and they split singing duties between equally between them. All of the choristers are educated here at The Cathedral School and receive a scholarship for their commitment.
