Norwich School has a very full, award-winning Partnerships Programme in and around the City. Two years ago it won the TES Independent School Award for Whole Community Outreach and you can read the latest update here:

Partnerships – Norwich School (norwich-school.org.uk)

Since 2012 the Primary Schools’ Singing Project has been busy in Norfolk primary schools, giving pupils in years 5 and 6 the opportunity to sing together and to perform in the Cathedral. Around 30 children per school took part and was completely free to the schools involved.

Of course the team had to suspend  work with primary schools throughout the pandemic but Master of Music, Ashley Grote ran an online group on Saturday mornings, and managed some sessions in small groups in the autumn, ahead of recording some pieces for the Cathedral’s virtual nativity.

Going forwards, the ‘Dippy’ the dinosaur exhibition is going ahead, one year later than planned, in the Cathedral this summer (July – November). Bob Chilcott has written a 10-minute work for this – ‘Creation Song’ –  for Primary School children to sing alongside the Cathedral choir, surrounding the dinosaur.
