New Head for Llandaff Cathedral School

Mrs Clare Sherwood, currently Deputy Head (Academic) at Blundell’s School in Devon is to be the new Head of Llandaff Cathedral School when Stephen Morris becomes Principal of St Edward’s College, Liverpool in September.

Clare is a historian and was a pupil at Hereford Cathedral School (as was Stephen!) where her father, Dr Howard Tomlinson was headmaster (and a former CSA Chairman). She was a choral scholar at Cambridge and captained Pembroke College teams in Netball and Ladies’ Cricket as well as playing Ladies’ Football and Rugby.

The Cathedral School in Llandaff was founded as a preparatory school for boys in 1880 to provide choristers for the Cathedral. It has grown to become a leading co-education educating boys and girls aged 3-18, starting a sixth for in 2013 and with an expected school roll approaching 800.
