London Oratory’s Schola Off to USA

London Oratory School’s Schola Cantorum are heading across the Atlantic in October for a series of concerts in Boston, New York and Washington DC under the baton of their Director, Charles Cole.

Shortly after their return they can be heard in concert at St James’s, Sussex Gardens, London W2. The programme, on Thursday 9 November at 7.30pm, includes Missa Ego flos campi by Juan Gutierrez de Padilla, Purcell’s Jehova, quam multi sunt hostes mei and the motet Jesu, meine Freude by J S Bach. Tickets will be available on the door or in advance from The Oratory House schola@los.ac

We know it’s a little early to be thinking about Christmas, but The Schola will be singing a Carol Service for Aid to the Church in Need at Immaculate Conception, Farm Street, London W1 on Wednesday, 13 December at 7pm.  Admission is free but there will be a collection for the charity which works to support persecuted Christians in Syria and Iraq.

As always during the Christmas season you will be able to hear Trebles from the Schola singing Carols at The Dorchester Hotel and some of the boys will also be singing at The Royal Opera House in the The Royal Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Details and tickets can be found at The Royal Opera House website.
