Frideswide Voices, the girls’ choir of Christ Church Oxford, is marking 10 years since its inception with a celebration concert in the Cathedral on Saturday 1 March, at 8pm.
2025 sees the choir enjoy a double anniversary, as it is also five years since the then independent group were adopted into the historic choral foundation at Christ Church. John Rutter’s vibrant and joyous Gloria sits alongside works of celebration from Byrd to Gibbons, Britten to Vaughan Williams and Weir to Frances-Hoad, chosen by the choristers and staff to mark a decade of groundbreaking music-making. Accompanied by organ, percussion and brass ensemble, and featuring current choristers and lay clerks, alumnae, staff and Christ Church’s youth choir, this promises to be a evening with something for everyone!
