In The Community

Outreach work is no longer an additional luxury in Choir Schools and Cathedrals. It has become a must-have rather than a nice-to-have so there is a huge amount of work at local level to promote singing and instrumental playing. Two CSA members were winners in this year’s TES Independent School Awards. Lichfield Cathedral School’s hugely successful Music Share programme won the Independent-State School Partnership Award. Norwich School was rewarded for it’s all-embracing community work to pick up the Whole-School Community Initiatives of the Year.

Use out interactive Outreach Programmes page to check out what CSA members are up to (or click below to find a project near you). You will also see which CSA Members are already working with their local Music Education Hub. This map is continually being updated.

Despite government funding through the National Singing Programme (Sing Up) coming to an end in 2011, 85% of CSA members are still running fantastically successful chorister outreach programmes as well as a variety of other forms of outreach, supporting not only the creative arts, but a host of other subject based initiatives.
