CSA Conference 2025: Sound the Trumpet! Music – a Catalyst for Change

Over 60 delegates from choir schools, cathedrals, and musical organisations gathered in Wells for the 2025 Choir Schools’ Association Conference.

Over 60 delegates from choir schools, cathedrals, and musical organisations gathered in Wells for the 2025 Choir Schools’ Association Conference, held under the inspiring theme “Sound the Trumpet! Music – a Catalyst for Change.”

With attendees travelling from across the UK – and as far afield as Saint Thomas Choir School in New York – the event reaffirmed the power of choral music to inspire, unite, and transform.

At the heart of the conference was a shared mission: to promote and preserve the unique tradition of choral singing. Delegates were treated to a rich and varied programme, hearing from current and former choristers and clergy.  Highlights included thought-provoking sessions led by marketing guru Miles Young and Simon Toyne, Executive Director of Music at the David Ross Education Trust, who spoke passionately about the role of music in education and community engagement.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Wells Cathedral and hosted by Wells Cathedral School, the conference provided a truly uplifting atmosphere.

As delegates departed, there was a tangible sense of renewed energy and purpose – united by a commitment to ensuring that the glorious tradition of choral music continues to flourish for generations to come.

Thank you to our exceptional hosts, Wells Cathedral School and Wells Cathedral, for making this year’s conference so memorable.
