Hereford Cathedral School: bringing world-class musicians to young people

CSA funding enabled Hereford Cathedral School to deliver two inspiring musical outreach events that enriched the musical experiences of hundreds of young people.

In March, renowned vocal coach Mark De Lisser led a dynamic vocal workshop, working with the school’s choirs before hosting an afternoon session for around 120 primary school children from local schools.

More recently, the Jess Gillam Trio visited Hereford, performing a lunchtime concert for approximately 200 children from Hereford Cathedral School and neighbouring schools, followed by an interactive workshop where young instrumentalists and singers learned and performed an arrangement of Caravan alongside the trio in the evening concert.

These events provided exceptional opportunities for young people to perform, learn from professional musicians and develop their confidence, leaving a lasting musical impact thanks to the support of the Choir Schools’ Association.
