Norwich School – Choral Society Annual Concert

A highlight of Norwich School’s musical calendar is its annual collaboration with the Norwich School Choral Society, a large regional adult chorus with over 150 members. Each year, the school’s choirs join the society to perform alongside professional orchestras and talented young instrumentalists from both Norwich School and local state schools. These concerts, featuring over 170 musicians on stage, are described as both rousing and inclusive, celebrating the power of music to bridge generations—bringing together performers from age 15 to 80+.

This year’s concert was held on 12th March 2025 at Norwich’s Catholic Cathedral. As part of its outreach, the school invited pupils from local state schools—including Wymondham College, Notre Dame, City of Norwich School, and Jane Austen College—to participate.

The rehearsals and workshops hosted by Norwich School offered valuable educational opportunities and musical collaboration. Tickets were £15 for adults, with free entry for under-25s, ensuring accessibility and supporting community engagement in choral excellence across the East of England.

The Grant from the CSA helped to reduce the funding shortfall making this concert, which promoted choral excellence and inter-generational participation, possible.

Award value: £2500
