Check List – Making the Right Decision

This simple check list will help you decide whether choir school will be right for your child:

• Study the map (schools) to see which school/s are nearby, checking whether they require choristers to be day or boarding pupils (boarding)
• Send for a prospectus and details of choristerships
• Visit the school, remembering to check what is expected of pupils academically as well as musically. Most choirmasters will be pleased to give your child an informal voice test (FAQs)
• Discuss fees at this stage too. Most chorister places are considerably cheaper than the average independent school fees. Discounts vary from school to school with some choristers educated free in exchange for singing (Financial Help)
